| The Leicester
Section of the B.K.K.S. has been in existence since 1996. The original club was formed by
a small active group of Koi lovers in April 1990. It was advertised in the local evening
paper and the meeting were popular from the onset. The number of members grew quickly and soon the committee was busy arranging many events and more excitingly, our first show. This consisted of 2 vats and 6 paddling pools and it was judged by 2 local dealers - and everybody won something!!!! Since then we have grown in numbers and size and now hold an annual show, judged by BKKS judges, supported by National Dealers and visited by 2000 people last year - not bad for a one day, closed show. This year we venture Open. Our Section meeting are fun, informative and busy, with many National speakers covering a multitude of subjects. See our Diary of Events for further information. We also have lots of Social events and it is certainly the best way to meet like minded people and to learn how to keep our precious Koi Carp.
